Local service marketing that survives contact with a busy week

1 article · last updated

A service business does not have a marketing department. It has an owner who is already behind, a phone that rings while everyone is on a job, and a customer list nobody has looked at in a year. Any strategy that assumes otherwise gets abandoned in the second week, no matter how good it was.

So the work here is judged by a different standard: does it still run on a busy week. Local search that keeps working without daily attention. A review flow that does not depend on remembering to ask. Something that catches the call nobody could get to. And the list of past customers, which is almost always the fastest revenue in the building and almost always the last thing anyone touches.

Most of these articles come out of running exactly this for service businesses — including the parts that did not work.
